  11.    (for the EIZO FlexScan F67/T68/FX-D7/TX-D7/E67F/E67T monitor

  14. NOTE: To utilize the USB hub function, the following system environment
  15.       is required.
  16.       * USB compliant PC or another USB hub connected to the USB compliant 
  17.         PC
  18.       * OS (Windows 98)
  19.       * EIZO USB cable (MD-C93)
  20.  
  21. Monitor USB function setup
  22. (1) Copy the downloaded files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into
  23.     the floppy disk drive.
  24. (2) When using the i-Station, connect the serial port of the i-Station 
  25.     to the maintenance port of the monitor with the EIZO maintenance port 
  26.     cable (MD-C94).
  27.  
  28. NOTE
  29.  When using a model which does not have a maintenance port or not using 
  30.   "ScreenManager Pro for USB", procedure (2) does not need to be done.
  31.  
  32. (3) Connect the upstream port of the monitor (or the i-Station)
  33.     to the downstream port of the USB compliant PC or another hub using 
  34.     the EIZO USB cable (MD-C93).
  35. (4) "EIZO USB Hub" appears on the screen. Insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM 
  36.     and click "OK" in the "Insert Disk" window. Follow the instruction 
  37.     of the window.

  39. NOTE
  40. If the step (2) is skipped, the USB function setup is completed here.

  42. (5) After the setup of the USB Hub, "Add New Hardware Wizard" window appears 
  43.     on the screen, and "Unknown Device" is detected.
  44. (6) Click the "Next" button.
  45. (7) Select the "Search for the best driver for your device (recommend)" 
  46.     button, and click the "Next" button.
  47. (8) Select the "Floppy disk drivers" and click the "Next" button.
  48. (9) "EIZO USB Monitor" appears on the screen. Follow the instruction of the 
  49.     window.

  51. Once the above operation is completed, the monitor (or the i-Station) 
  52. functions as a USB hub and the USB compliant peripherals can be connected 
  53. to the downstream ports of the monitor.

  55. Confirmation of USB setup
  56. Please make sure the proper installation is completed by following 
  57. the confirmation below.
  58. (1) Click the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel" from the 
  59.     "Settings".
  60. (2) Select and double click the "System" from the "Control Panel" to open 
  61.     the "System Properties".
  62. (3) Confirm if the followings are in the "Device Manager" window:
  63.     * "EIZO USB Hub" and "EIZO USB Monitor" appear under "Universal 
  64.       serial bus controller".
  65.     The two points indicated that the settings were properly installed.  
  66.     If the step (2) is skipped, the "EIZO USB Monitor" is not appeared.

  70. 2) Setting up the "ScreenManager Pro for USB" 
  71. =============================================================================
  72. NOTE
  73.  Please install this program after the above setup (USB function setup) has 
  74.   been completed.
  75.  "ScreenManager Pro for USB" cannot be used with the following environment.
  76.   * EIZO LCD display monitors
  77.   * i-Station with any model which does not have a maintenance port.  
  78.  
  79. ScreenManager Pro for USB is the utility for adjusting the display from 
  80. the PC using the mouse or keyboard through the USB interface. 
  81. This utility has the following features:
  82.  
  83. (1) Some unique adjustment functions which are not supported with the 
  84.     ScreenManager are available.
  85. (2) Easier adjustment via a mouse and a GUI application.
  86. (3) An adjustment menu with grids can be displayed for the accurate 
  87.     screen adjustment. (Two method to adjust are available.)
  88. (4) Adjustment data (screen data, color data) can be stored in the PC 
  89.     for latter use.

  91. Installation procedure
  92.  
  93. (1) Download the "ScreenManager Pro for USB for Windows 98" and copy the
  94.     extracted files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy
  95.     disk drive.
  96. (2) Execute the "setup.exe" program in the floppy disk.
  97. (3) Follow the procedure displayed on the screen.
  98. (4) When the setup is completed, click the "Advanced" button at
  99.     the "Settings" tab of "Display Properties" to see "EIZO" tab is added 
  100.     there. The monitor control function is available.

  102. NOTE
  103. ò The functionality differs with each monitor. Some functions may not be 
  104.   available to use with some monitors.

  107. Note when updating Windows 95 to Windows 98
  108.  
  109. When updating the system from Windows 95 to Windows 98, setup the Screen
  110. Manager Pro for USB software as follows:
  111.  
  112. (1)  Start Windows 98 with connecting display with PC by the USB cable.
  113. (2)  Select "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel and select 
  114.      "Install/Uninstall" tab.
  115. (3)  Select "ScreenManager Pro for USB" as an uninstall program and click
  116.      "Add/Remove.." button.
  117. (4)  After removing the program, follow the messages and restart Windows 98.
  118. (5)  When Windows 98 starts, select "System" from the Control Panel and 
  119.      select "Device Manager" tab.
  120. (6)  Select "EIZO USB Monitor" under the "Universal serial bus controller"
  121.      in the device list and click "Properties".
  122. (7)  Select "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver.." button.
  123. (8)  Click "Next" button in the "Update Device Driver Wizard" menu.
  124. (9)  Select "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now."
  125.      and click "Next" button.
  126. (10) Insert the floppy disk containing the ScreenManager Pro for USB for
  127.      Windows 98 into the floppy disk drive.
  128. (11) Select "Floppy disk drives" and click "Next" button.
  129. (12) Finish Updating the driver following the messages.
  130. (13) Remove the floppy disk and restart Windows 98.
  131. (14) Insert the floppy disk containing the "ScreenManager Pro for USB for
  132.      Windows 98" into the floppy disk drive.
  133. (15) Double click "setup.exe" in the floppy disk and install the ScreenManager
  134.      Pro for USB following the messages.

  136. =============================================================================
  137. 3) Update History 
  138. =============================================================================
  139. V1.01 : The following problem with V1.00 driver has been fixed;
  140.         After finish setting up the USB function on WIndows 98, click "Start"
  141.         button on the tool-bar and select "Shut Down". Then select "Stand by"
  142.         and click "OK" button. The computer will go into the "Stand by" mode.
  143.         (With some computers which do not support "Stand by" mode, "Stand by"
  144.          can not be selected.)
  145.         Then move mouse to activate the system, however the system can not be
  146.         recovered from the "Stand by" mode.

  149. 4) How to update 
  150. =============================================================================
  151. (1)  Start Windows 98 with connecting display with PC by the USB cable.
  152. (2)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  153. (3)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".
  154. (4)  Select "Device Manager" in the "System Properties".
  155. (5)  Double click "Universal serial bus controller" from the displayed device
  156.      list.
  157. (6)  Double click "EIZO USB Monitor" displayed under the "Universal serial bus 
  158.      controller".
  159. (7)  Select "Driver" in the "EIZO USB Monitor Properties".
  160. (8)  Click "Update Driver" button.
  161. (9)  "Update Device Driver Wizard" menu is displayed, then click "Next" button.
  162. (10) Mark "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now"
  163.      and click "Next" button.
  164. (11) Select "Floppy disk drives" as a target drive and insert the driver
  165.      diskette into the floppy disk drive then click "Next" button.
  166. (12) "Windows driver file search for the driver: EIZO USB Monitor" is displayed
  167.      then click "Next" button.
  168. (13) "EIZO USB Monitor  Windows has finished installing an updated driver for
  169.      your hardware device." is displayed then click "Finish" button.
  170. (14) Remove the driver diskette from the floppy disk drive and restart the
  171.      computer following the displayed messages.

  173. Update confirmation
  174. (1)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  175. (2)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".
  176. (4)  Select "Device Manager" in the "System Properties".
  177. (5)  Double click "Universal serial bus controller" from the displayed device
  178.      list.
  179. (6)  Double click "EIZO USB Monitor" displayed under the "Universal serial bus 
  180.      controller".
  181. (7)  Select "Driver" in the "EIZO USB Monitor Properties".
  182. (8)  Click "Driver File Details.." button.
  183. (9)  Check that the driver version is displayed as "File version: 1.01.0000".
